Since the global pandemic of COVID-19, there has been some reports over the last couple of weeks that people have been heading for the hills quite literally, potentially spreading the virus into communities that lack the social and medical infrastructure to cope with an outbreak in their areas.
As such, we have estimated the distances to reach the summit of some of the UK’s greatest mountains and hills and challenge you to complete these in a safe and responsible way as part of your daily exercise routine without having to travel.
Scotland
Ben Nevis – 8736 steps
Ben Lawers – 7891 steps
Schehallion – 7039 steps
Ben Lomand – 6331 steps
Conic Hill – 2345 steps
An Teallach – 6903 steps
England
Scaffell Pike – 6357 steps
Helvellyn – 6168 steps
Cross Fell – 5904 steps
Wales
Snowden – 7052 steps
Carnedd Llewlyn – 6916 steps
Glyder Fawr – 6506 steps
Ireland

So, there is plenty of choice here and the hills will still be there when this all blows over, so please stay at home, stay safe, and exercise responsibly.
We’d love to see your photos of your walks (perhaps you’ve already done these in the past?) so post these to social media and tag Odyssey Health Club. You can also use the hashtag #OdysseyMountainChallenge
